Races of Enchanted Lands
If you want your character to be a race other than these listed then please PM me with the race's details so I can add it here.
Note: Light magic is he ability to control light, heal others, and communicate with spirits. Dark magic is the ability to control darkness and shadows, infect and/or worsen wonds, inflict pain without touching the victim, and communicated with spirits.
The rarest race in the country Most are enslaved in Rotija now Very ordinary, no special powers or abilities Age normally
Magicians
Men who wield mostly magic of light are called wizards, women are wiccans Men who wield mostly magic of darkness are called warlocks, women are witches Those who attempt to meld science with magic are Alchemists Necromancers are magicians who break the laws of magic Age normally, besides magic they have no special abilities Normally uses a verbal spell, some have magical objects, advanced magicians merely use their mind or a certain movement The laws of magic include:
1. Cannot revive the deceased 2. Cannot ask for immortality and/or eternal youth 3. Cannot summon demons
Some normal humans can practice weak spells, but those who are able to preform powerful spells must have magic in their blood. Most common in humans
Elementalists
Humans who have control over one (or two) of the four elements: fire, earth, water, wind. Random gene, can appear in any human Most show signs of elements when entering teen years Can create and control their element Usually have a mark of their element on their flesh Age normally and besides their element they have no special abilities Appearance may look human or, sometimes, may mimic their element
Usually live for about a thousand years Have pointed ears Beautiful and elegant Use magic pertaining to their species
Wood Elves
Most common in the elf race Usually live in the forests Often have a warm, welcoming appearance Live in small tribes (10-30 elves) and are usualy seclusive They are very in touch with nature, able to communicate with animals and use magic to help plants strive and heal anmals (and people). Very protective of the land they live on
Dark Elves
Usually have black skin and silvery/white hair Weild dark magic and summoning spells Usually very solitary and keeps to themselves Very prideful, arrogant race Most live in Rotija
Holy Elves
Rarest, and most powerful, of the elf races Less than ten remain alive Weild the power of light, can communicate with animals and spirits, have strong healing powers, a couple in history have been known to purify items. Keep to populated areas, often disguised, where they are safe Very peaceful and kind Usualy have pale skin and hair "Holy" blood, usually white or pale red in color
Very tiny, elvish-looking creatures with brightly-colored wings Usually stand between five and six inches Have little magic beyond very mild telekinesis (moving objects, though rarely anything bigger than themselves), creating flowers, and flight Sweet, helpful creatures, usually fly in pairs (no more than five, at least) Most are female Very playful Live for about a hundred years Most live in the forests, some in the plains
Sprite
Resemble faeries except a bit more devilish and they have clear, dragonfly shaped wings Mischievious and playful Can be found anywhere Have no magic Live for a hundred years
Humanoid creatures who live off of blood Immortal In order to be killed their body must be sliced and diced and then burned to ash Only need to feed once a month, though most are fueled by an uncontrolable bloodlust Very beautiful with pale skin and usually dark eyes that change to red or yellow Stronger and faster than most, with enhanced senses Can heal mild injuries almost instantly, though series injuries take a few days to heal (cannot regenerate) Most live in Rotija Skin is sensitive to sunlight, but it won't kill them Some vampires have unique abilities They feed off just about any land creature, but prefer humans and elves, though they like to keep humans alive The blood of a Holy Elf is the sweetest taste to vampires and after tasting their blood the vampire will often go insane with lust Vampires cannot change into bats or other animals, nor do they sleep in coffins Vampires are unable to reproduce Only humans can be changed into vampires (thus why vampires are often reluctant to really kill them) For a human to be changed his/her blood most be almost completely drained and then they must be fed the vampire's blood They can eat normal food, but do not need it
Live twice as long as humans (200 years) Look very human, though their appearance is off Can change into one animal when threatened or angry Their animal form is usually twice as big as the animal normally is Most werecreatures change into a carnivorous animal (mostly wolves) When in a humanoid form they have animal senses, still, but are just as weak as a human Transformation is involuntary, only happening when the werecreature is angry or in dnager Very few are able to force a transformation Transformation is usually quick and painless, unless forced Silver does not weaken them, gold does though Gold in the bloodstream is lethal Most are arrogant and playful Most live in Rotija, though there are few who live in Arenia Wounds heal quicker than normal, but not instantly
Usualy appear human, but can change into any living creature. Cannot change clothes automatically Their voice can change, as well They can change the color of their hair, eyes, and skin, too Very much like humans, despite the shape-shifting They do not have the powers of the creature they shape-shift into
Dwarves
Small, humanoid creatures that usually stand at about four feet, some smaller Live in large clans in the mountains, very territorial Not used to bright light and live in tunnels and caverns Most are men They love treasure and basically anything shiny Tough skin that is hard t break and they are usually very resistant to fire (though not completely) Tough, proud race Excellent blacksmiths Usually live for five hundred years
Large, lizard-like creatures with bat like wings, sharp talons, colorful scales, horns and spikes, and deadly fangs Usually around twenty feet in length (including tail), eight feet in height Most dragons are fire dragons, though there are a few ice dragons (very rare) Have the ability to appear human Immortal race, though weapons will kill them Very proud and very serious race with few morals Very solitary and racist Most live in the mountains and desert of Rotija
Unicorns
Horse-like creatures with a long, single horn appearing from their brow Run faster than normal horses Most are silver or white in color Unicorns with a gold horn and golden fur are nearly extinct, only three or four left Have the ability to change into a human Innocent, sweet natured creatures Usually live in plains and forests Live for about a thousand years
Pegasii
Similar to unicorns except they have wings instead of horns Very very few Pegasii have a horn (and usually the horn is golden) Kind, though usually proud Usually live in the plains Live for about a thousand years
Centaurs are half horse/half human looking creatures They have the upper boy of a human, but fromt he waist down they have the body of a horse They hold no magic, but they are very wise and knowledgable Ancient centaurs are known to glimpse the future, but they rarely reveal what they see unless the one asking is unusual They live in large tribes, twenty to thirty in number, and keep to the woods Centaurs only live in harmony with other woodland creatures, outsiders are treated darkly
Mermaids
Mermaids are half fish, half human creatures They have the upper body of a human, but from the waist down they have long fish tails Live in the ocean, naturally About half the population r mermaids can change their tail to legs and walk on land Usually live together Very wary of anyone from above the water Possess only the magic of water elements and the ability to talk to sea creatures
Spirits who have taken a humanoid form and continued to live Playful and beautiful Immortal
Water Nymphs
Nymphs who are based off the element of water Usually have pale or blue-tinted skin and silvery or blue hair Have the ability to fuse with water (but cannot become water) Live near rivers and the ocean
Wood Nymphs
Nymphs based off the element of earth Usually have dark or green-tinted skin and green or brown hair Often seen decorated with flowers Have the ability to fuse with trees Lives in the forests
Wind Nymphs
Nymphs based off the element of air Usually transparent-silver or very pale blue Never touches the ground and are commonly seen in the wilderness when there is a slight breeze Is able to vanish with wind
Magical creatures with wings Most angels are pure with white wings and use magic of light Angels who have sinned slowly turn into fallen angels with black wings (some feathery, some leathery) and use dark magic Pure angels live in A'enthia and are considered strong warriors Fallen angels live in Rotija and are also considered strong warriors They are considered sons and daughters of the gods and goddesses because of their beauty and grace, but this is merely a myth Usually proud races, but they are not arrogant Most fallen angels enjoy thair darkness, fallen angels who do not have grey wings and are usually kept hidden Grey-Wings do not have any magic and are basically useless besides flying
The most populated race in the country Normal demons are relatively humanoid and have bat wings and/or horns They possess little magic, but they are very strong Immortal, but weapons can kill them
Animal Demons
Animal demons are demons who are based off one animal Unlike werecreatures they can change between their humanoid form and animal form at will Anima forms are usually very large and somewhat demonic When in human form they usually have animal traits (ears, tail, claws, fangs, whiskers, etc.) Strong, fast, and enhanced senses
Elemental Demons
Demons that are based off an element Can only control one element, but are much stronger than Elementalists Usually have an appearance to relate to their element (ie. Fire demon may have flaming hair) Only a small handful can control every element
Chaos Demon
Rarest of all demons, less than ten alive Possibly the strongest creature, rivaling the Holy Elves Usually appears like an angel, but much more fierce They have no need to feed or sleep, but do enjoy blood from other races Can control a special element of 'Chaos,' a black energy that burns when made contact with and can ultimately destroy the minds of living things; very lethal in large amounts The element is so strong that as the demon grows, and the energy grows, it must be transfered from the demon into an object or it will consume and kill the demon Most known chaos demons live in Rotija All proud and uncaring race, not to mention selfish Poisonous (deadly) blood, usually black or dark red
The soul of someone strong-willed who died Spirits cannot be seen or heard (unless called) To those who can see them they look as they did at their best Very peaceful Can be found anywhere Very few find someone or something to possess since when they do they become nymphs They cannot die, but Necromancers can banish them from existence
Ghosts
The soul of someone who died with a grudge or strong regret Can be seen and heard by anyone Looks exactly like they did when they died Usually very whiny and clingy Can possess a body, but if the person is strong enough they can be forced out Found anywhere, but usually stay at the place of their death Cannot die, but can be banished from existence
Image A fire/heat demon native to the Outer Lands Usually stands at about eight feet Tough skin resistant to heat and fire Heat radiats off its body Breathes fire Brutally strong
Ignis
Image A sibling to the Ignisius demon Stronger and more savage Same abilities as the Ignisius Usually walks on all fours, though will stand to be intimidating
Volitalon
Image Large viscious bat-like creatures Very strong and intelligent Said to be the ancester of vampires because of their blood lust (myth, of course)
Voli
Image Smal, bat like creatures Keep to large , rnaging up to a thousand per flock Attack in swarms Have venomous fangs that can paralyze their victims for an hour (or more if bitten repeatedly) Individually weak
Cruentus
Image Small, fox-like creatures with blood-red fur Sly and mischievious, hunting on smaller creatures Likes siny objects Can appear in dreams as a way to lure people
Venesius
Image An unusually large snake-like demon, usually about forty-feet in length When it shakes its rattle a soft, alluring sound is heard, luring its prey Venomous fangs that can paralyze its prey for an hour
Half snake, half human creatures; usually human from the waist up and have the tail of a snake from the waist down Immortal Venemous Very strong Usually solitary Very rare Passionate creatures Females are called Nagis
They tend to be rather malformed and ugly, looking demonic at best. Most have wings, but some are wingless. Often are found in earthy hues. They are repellent to most magic and the common weapons, and are the fear for most demons. They are immortal. They turn to stone at dawn [and then may be shattered and broken like normal stone] Tend not to like water, and water wielding creatures
A serpent or dragon like creature with multiple heads (7-9 heads) When a head is cut off it grows back Blood is poisonous Some have the ability to change into humans Have one immortal head Usually very large, monstrous creatures Poisonous breath (kills weaker creatures, sickens stronger ones) Fear of fire/ fire demons
